Reports that in mustering the Queensferry fisher and boatmen found several enrolled in the local militia. He ask for guidance as to whether these men are exempt from furnishing men for the Naval Service and notes that they are only employed in fishing during the season. Men employed on the Forth and Clyde Canal claim exemption as just two men navigate vessels of up to 100 tons and are not considered seamen for the militia ballot.
