Folios 236-237: George Ferguson, HMS Pylades, Deptford. Recommends George Shephard, Gunner, and William Pickard, Boatswain. States that George Shephard joined the Navy in 1794 and serves as a Warrant Officer for 7 years while William Pickard also joined in 1794 but has not so many years as an officer though is if equal merit. Explains that during an arduous winter cruising constantly in the Archipelago, the 2 Warrant Officers were entrusted, as the Commissioned Officers were either wounded or absent, with the duties of commissioned officers.
