Description (What the record is about)

Folios 516-517: Matthew Flinders, London. It being contrary to instructions of the Admiralty, issued on his sailing in HMS Investigator for a voyage of discovery, that any log books or journals of that voyage should be given into any other office than that of the Admiralty; and his log books, charts, accounts and remarks, so far as he was able to obtain them back from the French captain general of the Isle of France, being lodged in the Admiralty Office; - he requests an order be issued as will enable his accounts to pass through the Navy Office.
