Folios 155-156: William Ferrie, HMS Savage, Hamoaze. Reply to letter dated 9 May 1810. States that the cause of a vacancy for a Purser in HMS Savage was occasioned by the Purser (Mr Samuel Cooke) having been taken dangerously ill of a fever and remaining on shore until he was made run, but he has now returned on board bringing with him proper documents from his Physicians and Surgeon. Requests the"R" to be removed.
