Description

Folio 144: Arthur Farquhar, HMS Desiree, off the Texel. Covering letter for the enclosed copies of letter he has sent to Sir Richard Strachan Bart. KB.

Folios 145-146: enclosure with folio 144. Letter dated 16 April 1810 by Arthur Farquhar, HMS Desiree, off the Texel to Sir Richard Strachan Bart. KB. Follow up letter to his of the 13 April 1810, when he proposed an exchange of Prisoners of War for the crew of HMS Cuckoo.

Folios 146-147: enclosures with folio 144. Letter dated 13 April 1810 by Arthur Farquhar, HMS Desiree, off the Texel, to Sir Richard Strachan Bart. Suggest the exchange of Prisoners of War for the Crew of HMS Cuckoo which was lost.

Folios 147-148: enclosure with folio 144. Letter dated 18 April 1810 by Arthur Farquhar, HMS Desiree, off the Texel, to Sir Richard Strachan Bart. KB. Reports that Colonel Hora Siccama of the Dutch Navy was this day sent out (with a flag of truce from the Texel) by Rear Admiral [Lemmers?] on the Part of the Dutch Government, enquiring to know the persons of the Dutch Fishermen having been captured and whither it proceeded in consequence of a Dutch Fishing Vessel having been taken armed and acting as a Privateer under that disguise as represented to the Admiral by two Midshipmen of HMS Desiree.
