Folios 244-245: Alexander Fraser, Perth. His illness has deteriorated whilst in Perth on his way to command the Sea Fencibles at Dundee. His brother in law Lieutenant John Bruce recommends he returns to Edinburgh for medical assistance and to be cared for by family and friends. He asks for the same forbearance as shown in his first illness when serving on HMS Vanguard. Asks for his resignation to be accepted but asks that this will not be a bar to future service when he has recovered. Asks for future correspondence through Lieutenant John Bruce, Sea Fencibles at Musselburgh, Edinburgh.
