Folios 188-189: Robert Forbes, HMS Racehorse, Dartmouth. Since the ship's Purser has drowned, he decided to order a survey of slops and stores in his ship, HMS Pluto, and several gun brigs which he found in Dartmouth. Admits he knows nothing about the job of a Purser, and when in command of the gun brig HMS Escort he lost £100 because of his ignorance. Asks for another Purser to be appointed immediately.
