Folios 97-98: William Fisher, HMS Racehorse, Yarmouth Roads, Isle of Wight. Reports that the previous day he saw the transport Agenaria of South Shields, Thomas Posgate, Master, from the Cork convoy strike the Shingles Bank in a Southwesterly gale. As the transport was full of troops, he anchored close to the bank with the gun-brig HMS Rebuff and their boats were able to bring off about 200 soldiers of the 40th Regiment, leaving about 25 still aboard. They had assistance from the Mary, pilot cutter of Cowes. Praises the conduct of Mr Smith, Master's Mate of the Racehorse, who stayed aboard the transport and as the weather moderated was able to get sail up and get her over the bank and into Yarmouth Roads. All the soldiers are now back aboard the transport and she does not appear to have suffered any material damage. Reports that four men, James Kymbrill, George Fisher, George Hay and William Parkin, cut away the Jolly Boat in the dark and deserted. He is circulating their descriptions.
