Folios 87-88: Justice Finley, HMS Harrier, Simons Bay. Is sending this message with Lieutenant Morgan, the Agent of Transports, and the ships under his charge. Reports there has been no news of HMS Blenheim and HMS Java and he fears for their safety. He had sent an extract from his log to Captain Henry Bazeley of HMS Antelope for the benefit of the Admiralty, since it gave the best description of the gale in which they parted company from the Admiral. Since the Antelope's departure, no man of war has arrived, and he has had no opportunity to forward the orders for HMS Lancaster to go to St Helena for the homeward convoy. Encloses [no longer present] a letter from Mr William Johnson, Master of the Harrier accompanied by a chart of False Bay giving the bearings for the Trident Rock and pointing out inaccuracies in the charts of Mr Heather and those of Mr Laurie and Mr Whittle. He gave orders for a cask to be placed on this rock, as it is very dangerous to vessels entering False Bay.
