Folios 658-659: John Fyffe, HMS Reindeer, Deptford. The Carpenter had joined about 5 days and was sent on 26 [September 1804] to draw stones in the dockyard when he absented himself without leave and has not been heard of since. He is a very young man and this is his first appointment. He has every reason to believe he has no intention of returning to the ship.
