Folios 630-631: John Fyffe, HMS Cyclops, the Downs. He anchored there this morning with the Mediterranean convoy which followed HMS Ambuscade and HMS Charon to the Mother Bank. The signal for them to follow HMS Cyclops was made from HMS Ambuscade but due to the weather and their departure from Foreland I the night he cannot send a list of the 13 vessels all of which anchored or passed safely through the Downs this morning. He would have joined the convoy off St Helens as directed but could not due to the wind. Encloses the carpenter's statement of defects. He has just received orders to proceed to the Nore.
Folio 632: enclosure with folios 630-631. Undated statement of defects of HMS Cyclops signed by John Rodley, Carpenter.
