Folios 604-605: Alexander Fraser, HMS Hindostan, the Nore. He has only just received the letter of 5 [December 1804] enquiring the reason for the vacancy for a Lieutenant which he applied to Rear Admiral Russell to have filled off the Texel. The reason was that the ship sailed from the Nore one Lieutenant short of her complement as Lieutenant Flinders who had been appointed had not joined. He joined the ship on her arrival at the Nore.
