He has fallen in with HMS Syrius [Sirius] and is proceeding with the convoy without any accident since the first evening when after leaving St Helens HMS Active fell on board the Cere East India ship and sustained so much damage he had to send her into port under the charge of HMS Speedwell, commanded by Lieutenant Robertson.
