Description

Folios 640-641: Covering note from Ommaney & Druce, sending a commission from Vice Admiral Curtis, and requesting them to confirm Captain William Fothergill to HMS Lancaster.

Folios 642-643: enclosure with folios 640-641. Letter from Vice Admiral Sir Roger Curtis, signed 24 February 1803, appointing William Fothergill, then acting Captain of HMS Diomede, to be acting Captain of HMS Lancaster.
