Folios 628-629: Robert Forbes, HMS Pluto, Long Rerach. Advising that John Kentish, a private in the East London Militia, has requested to serve under him on the Pluto and that having applied to the man's commanding officer he has received the reply attached. Notes that Kentish has been at sea five years and is a fit man for the Service.
Folios 630-631: enclosure with folios 628-629. Letter dated 22 September 1803 from Major Jennings, East London militia, signed [?] Walker, saying that Kentish had once before volunteered for the Royal Navy but had afterwards declined to do so, so he will not be permitted to leave the Regiment.
