Folios 597-598: Robert Forbes, Liverpool. Advising that the tender Rosa arrived with him the previous day and he has sent 120 new raised men aboard her, but that the lieutenant commanding her has been given permission to attend to severe defects with the rigging before putting to sea. This should take no more than a few hours and the Rosa will proceed to Plymouth as soon as water and provisions are aboard. Adds there are still a few men remaining ashore, independent of the two small cutters as mentioned in his previous letter, and 60 men who, as soon as a tender or ship of the line arrives to receive them, he will send to their stations. Repeats his request for a six-oared cutter as 'many good men' are lost to the Service for want of such a vessel.
