Folios 173-174: Solomon Ferris, HMS Hercule, Portsmouth Harbour. By an Order from the Admiralty dated 10 May 1802, he was directed to expedite the fitting out of HMS Hercule for Channel Service, and the order expresses that directions had been given to this yard to store here accordingly - but on demanding 2 Cables and other necessary stores it appears that no order has been received by Commissioner Sir Charles Saxton. He requests the necessary instructions for her to be stored.
