Folios 165-166: Solomon Ferris, HMS L'Hercule [Hercule], Portsmouth Harbour. Thomas Lyons late Master at Arms of HMS L'Hercule [Hercule] having been recommended to me by Captain Luke for his good conduct in the Station under his Command and Sir Richard King having also recommended his as a very fit for the office of Master at Arms. Requests he be appointed to HMS Hercule.
