Folios 159-160: John Ferrier, HMS Albion, Sheerness. Reply to letter dated 18 December 1802 requesting I let you know when Evidences I intend to call will be ready for the Court Martial intended to be held on me. I inform that I named them in a letter dated 12 December 1802, as per your request dated 11 December 1802 and request you will give the necessary directions for hastening them as soon as possible. I observe that if Captain William Richardson's services should be required on board HMS Autumn I can dispense with his attendance but the person that was the Boatswain of HMS Autumn in September 1802, Lieutenant John Palmer late of HMS Fortunee and Mr Thomas Pettman Master's Mate of HMS Albion (now at the Rendezvous in London). I much wish for; the other necessary Evidences being on board HMS Magicienne and HMS Fortunee at Chatham can be present on a short notice. I request you forward the enclosed [not included].
