Incorporated as Ely Tidal Harbour and Railway by act of 21st July 1856, afterwards changed to above by Penarth Harbour Dock and Railway Act 27th July 1857. Leased to Taff Vale Railway Company for 999 years by Penarth Harbour Dock and Railway (Leasing) Act 22nd June 1863. Absorbed into Great Western Railway as from 1st January 1922 by virtue of Railways Act 19th August 1921.
