Dounreay Site Restoration Limited (DSRL) is the site licence company responsible for the clean-up and demolition of Britain's former centre of fast reactor research and development. DSRL holds the site licence under the Nuclear Installations Act, the waste disposal authorisation under the Radioactive Substances Act and other necessary legal permits for managing the site closure programme. Prior to 1 April 2008, the site was managed by the UK Atomic Energy Authority. DSRL operates under contract to the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA) who owns the site.
