Folio(s) 358-359. Extract of a letter [HO 42/40/119] from Lord Milford [Lord Lieutenant of Pembrokeshire], at Haverfordwest, reporting that the French ships have sailed leaving 300 men who had surrendered as prisoners. Milford reports that the local gentlemen and peasantry showed great spirit and loyalty with many thousand of the peasantry assembled and armed with pikes, scythes, etc. Milford also reports that the total number who disembarked from the ships was 1,200.
