Incorporated under act of 4th July 1836.

By act of 10th May 1844, Birmingham and Derby Junction, Midland Counties, and North Midland railway companies were consolidated and incorporated into one Company by name of Midland Railway Company. Midland Railway Company was amalgamated into London Midland and Scottish Railway Company under North Western Midland and West Scottish Group Amalgamation Scheme 1922 dated 30th December 1922.
