Incorporated by Act for making railway or tramroad dated 24th May 1810 (cap.123). Part of line was purchased by Coleford Monmouth Usk & Pontypool Railway Company in 1853 and remainder was purchased by Coleford Railway Company in 1876. Coleford Monmouth Usk and Pontypool Railway Company was vested in Great Western Railway Company as from 1st January 1887 by Great Western Railway Act, 22nd August 1881, and Coleford Railway was amalgamated with Great Western Railway as from 1st July 1884 by Great Western Railway (No. 1) Act 7th August 1884.
