Incorporated under act of 13th August 1859. Under Mid Sussex & Midhurst Junction Railway Act of 7th August 1862, power was obtained to sell or lease undertaking to London, Brighton & South Coast Railway Company, and purchase by the latter Company took place in June 1874. London, Brighton & South Coast Railway Company became part of Southern Railway Company under Railways (Southern Group) Amalgamation Scheme 1922 dated 22nd December 1922.
