Incorporated (under the Light Railways Act of 1896) by an Order of the Light Railway Commissioners and confirmed by the Board of Trade on 5th April 1900. An Amendment Order was confirmed on 1st June 1901.
The undertaking was transferred to and absorbed by the London & North Eastern Railway Company from 1st January 1923 under the London & North Eastern Railway (Mid Suffolk Light Railway) Absorption Scheme 1924, dated 3rd April 1924.
