This was a union of Manchester and Leeds, and Hull and Selby railway companies confirmed by Hull and Selby Railway Company at their meeting of 30th December 1843 (Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway Minutes, Vol.12, No.4023, p.363) and by Manchester and Leeds Railway Company at their meeting on 28th December 1843. (Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway Minutes, Vol.12, p.380 and various) This association was terminated in April 1845 and all parliamentary proceedings regarding Bill then before Parliament were ordered to be withdrawn. (Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway Minutes, Vol.14, p.10 (14.4.1845)
