Incorporated by Llanidloes and Newtown Railway Act 4th August 1853.

By Cambrian Railways Act, 25th July 1864, company together with (1) Oswestry and Newtown Railway, (2) Oswestry, Ellesmere and Whitchurch Railway, and (3) Newtown and Machynlleth Railway, was dissolved and constituted one undertaking by name of Cambrian Railways, which was amalgamated with Great Western Railway as from 1st January 1923 by virtue of Railways Act, 19th August 1921.
