To Evan Nepean: Concerning the identity of John Carnoff alias Camoff supposed to have been born in Jersey about 1769-1770 and baptised in St Heliers on the 14 January 1770, son of a Scotch invalid soldier and of Elizabeth Durand. Folio 125.
