Incorporated under above name by Act 28 & 29 Vic, Session 1865, dated 19th June 1865. Under Act 32 & 33 Vic, Session 1868-9, dated 24th June 1869, name of company was changed to "King's Lynn Dock Company." By virtue of section 23 of King's Lynn Dock Act of 1884, name of company was again changed to original name of "King's Lynn Docks and Railway Company."
Company was vested in British Transport Commission by virtue of Transport Act 1947, but was not formally dissolved until 1956 under certificate of Board of Trade, dated 8th May 1956, and published in London Gazette dated 15th May 1956, which latter date is date from which dissolution took effect.
