Incorporated under Act 8 & 9 Vic, cap.97 (1845). Under act of 1847 (11 Vic cap.174) amalgamated with Eastern Union Railway Company to form new company of latter name. Under act of 7th August 1862, Eastern Union; East Anglian; Norfolk; Eastern Counties; and East Suffolk railway companies, with their subsidiary undertakings, were amalgamated to form Great Eastern Railway Company. Great Eastern Railway Company became part of London & North Eastern Railway Company from 1st January 1923 under North Eastern, Eastern and East Scottish Group Amalgamation Scheme 1922, dated 30th December 1922.
