Incorporated under act of 25th July 1864. London & South Western and Devon & Somerset railway companies were authorised under certain conditions to become joint owners of Ilfracombe Railway. Ilfracombe Railway was abandoned under Ilfracombe Railway (Abandonment) Act 1868 and company was dissolved and wholly ceased to exist in 1901 in accordance with minute of directors' meeting held 21st November 1901.
