A 8ins x19ins bound ledger book containing in the front individual tradesmen's accounts for mainly wine, spirits and tobacco and listed against numbered ships' books for the period 5 December 1722 to April 1724.
The rear of the book contains a ship's log and journal of the sloop the Dolphin followed by that of the brigantine the Mary carrying out local trading voyages from Commendo Castle for slaves, gold and ivory on the Windward Coast of West Africa under the direction of General Tinker over the period 24 December 1724 to 12 June 1725. The Mary sprang a leak riding the breakers at Cape Corse and after survey was ordered to be hauled ashore to be broken up. Detail of slaves purchased (21 men, 6 women and 2 boys) is included.
