By Minute dated 9th January 1884, it is recited that certain individuals had been appointed by the Great Western and Midland railway companies respectively to form joint committee as provided by Article 14 of agreement of 30th July 1872. This committee continued its meetings until 2nd May 1894, after which its functions passed to Great Western and Midland Railways Joint Committee, which on 1st January 1923 became London Midland and Scottish and Great Western Railways Joint Committee, and which ceased on nationalisation of railways 1st January 1948, under Transport Act of 1947.
