The Great Central, Hull and Barnsley, and Midland Railways Joint Committee was formed when the Midland Railway Company joined the already existing Hull and Barnsley and Great Central Railways Joint Committee, the committee being formed by the Midland Railway Act 1907. It was responsible for 5 miles of route from Braithwell Junction and Braithwell Northern Junction to Laughton Junction (Yorkshire).
The committee continued after the Hull and Barnsley Railway was vested in the North Eastern Railway on 1st April 1922 and the Great Central and North Eastern Railways became part of the London and North Eastern Railway Company and the Midland as part of the London, Midland and Scottish Railway Company on the Grouping on 1st January 1923. The committee responsibilities were transferred to the London, Midland and Scottish and London and North Eastern Railways Joint Committee on 1st August 1924.
