The Gloucester and Dean Forest Railway Company was incorporated under their act of 27th July 1846.
It was leased to Great Western Railway Company under Great Western Railway Act 3rd July 1851 and amalgamated with Great Western Railway by Great Western Railway Act 30th June 1874.
