The Furness Railway Company was incorporated by act of 23rd May 1844.
The company became one of constituent companies of London Midland & Scottish Railway Company as from 1st January 1923, under North Western, Midland and West Scottish Group Amalgamation Scheme 1922, dated 30th December 1922.
