The Epsom and Leatherhead Railway Company was incorporated under act of 14th July 1856.

It was taken over and opened by London & South Western Railway Company and transferred under an act of 23rd July 1860.

The London & South Western Railway Company became part of Southern Railway Company as from 1st January 1923 under Railways (Southern Group) Amalgamation Scheme dated 22nd December 1922.
