The Epping Railways Company was incorporated under act of 13th August 1859.

The undertaking was transferred to Eastern Counties Railway Company under act of 29th July 1862.

Under act of 7th August 1862, Eastern Counties Railway Company was amalgamated with East Anglian; Norfolk; Eastern Union; and East Suffolk railway companies, with their subsidiary undertakings, to form Great Eastern Railway Company.
