In 1980-2003 British Railways Board
The East Gloucestershire Railway Company was incorporated under East Gloucestershire Railway Act 7th August 1862.
This Act failed (see RAIL 173/159), and a new Act was passed on 29th July 1864 to authorise the completion of the railway to Cheltenham.
It was amalgamated with Great Western Railway Company as from 1st July 1890 by Great Western Railway Act 4th August 1890.
