The Denbigh, Ruthin and Corwen Railway Company was incorporated under act of 23rd July 1860.
The line was worked by London and North Western Railway Company from 1st July 1878 and under act of 3rd July 1877 undertaking was vested in London and North Western Railway Company as from 1st July 1879.
