The Dare Valley Railway Company was incorporated under Dare Valley Railway Act 21st July 1863.

The company was leased to Taff Vale Railway Company for 999 years from 1st January 1871 under Dare Valley Railway Act 20th June 1870 and amalgamated with Taff Vale Railway Company as from 1st July 1889 by Taff Vale Railway (Amalgamations and Capital) Act 26th August 1889.
