Crime: Compounding a felony; by illegally detaining and extorting money from William Clifford on suspicion of his having stolen a watch, hat and two handkerchiefs from a Mr Clackitt.
Initial sentence: Three months imprisonment.

Petitioner(s): Joseph Robinson (the convict) undersigned by 222 inhabitants of Maidstone, Kent; Joseph Robinson; 11 members of the Grand Jury who indicted the convict; 11 members of the petty jury who tried the convict; Mr Robarts of Lombard Street, London.
Grounds for clemency: His fellow convict, who received the same sentence of three months imprisonment, was discharged after approximately one month and Robinson is aggrieved that he has to serve his full sentence.
