Folio(s) 9. Letter from William Ross and George Higgins [King's Messengers] stating that while at William Pitt's they had spoken to the Home Secretary of unpaid bills for attachment, maintenance, etc. of the state prisoners and their attendants in May 1794 and of the distress felt by their families through accounts being unsettled for three years. It seems that settlement could not happen until the Lord Chamberlain applied to the Treasury for moneys to discharge these bills.
