The Cardiff, Penarth and Barry Junction Railways Company was incorporated under the Cardiff, Penarth and Cadoxton-juxta-Barry Railway Act 6th August 1885.

It was amalgamated with the Taff Vale Railway Company as from 1st July 1889 by Taff Vale Railway (Amalgamations and Capital) Act 26th August 1889.
