The Birmingham, Wolverhampton and Dudley Railway Company was incorporated under the Birmingham Wolverhampton & Dudley Railway Act of 3rd August 1846. The company was vested in the Great Western Railway Company by the Great Western Railway (Additional Powers) Act 31st August 1848.
