Description

Guichard, prior of Wenlock, to John [Offord], archbishop-elect of Canterbury, [and chancellor]: William, lord of Badger, has sent Hugh Carles, his presentee for the free chapel of Badger, for presentation in the usual manner; as the king has reserved Wenlock's presentation to himself for the time being, and the prior does not wish to derogate from royal rights, he is sending the clerk to the archbishop to deal with the matter so as not to occasion future loss to the church of Wenlock. Dated at Wenlock.
