The Bala and Dolgelly Railway Company was incorporated under the Bala and Dolgelly Railway Act 30th June 1862 to construct a railway line from Bala to Dolgelly, Merionethshire. On 1st August 1877 it was amalgamated with the Great Western Railway Company by the provisions of the Great Western Railway Act of 23rd July 1877.
