The Medium Term Assessment Division was created under the Macro Economic Policy Group in 1981 and thereunder the Chief Economic Adviser's Sector of the HM Treasury. It continued in business at least until 1996. It had a sibling division called the Policy Analysis Division under the Macro Economic Policy Group - whose function was the analysis of macro economic policies.
