Arrangement
(Information about the filing sequence or logical order of the record)
-
Arrangement
For case files the alphabetical codes CA to CZ were used, although some combinations were omitted. Later subjects were added using an extra 'A' i.e. CAA, CBA etc. There were three consecutive cycles, each closed after five years. The second and third cycle were prefaced 2/ and 3/ respectively.
At some stage the files were rearranged in 'strict' alphabetical order: CA, CAA, CB, CBA and so on. The first cycle has been listed in this order, but subsequent cycles have been listed in the original order. Arrangement in the list is alphanumerical by former file reference.
